arara.

Arara compared with Popmenu, Owner.com, BentoBox, Squarespace and Wix.

Every one of these can put a restaurant online. They differ in what they cost, who does the work, and whether the facts on the page are right.

The short version

Squarespace and Wix are website builders for any kind of business. They're inexpensive, and you do all of it: the design, the writing, the menu, every hours change. Popmenu and Owner.com are restaurant platforms built around marketing and online ordering, priced from $159 to $499 a month. BentoBox now sells only to restaurants on Clover's point-of-sale system.

Arara does one job. It builds your restaurant's website from facts you confirm, keeps it current with a few minutes a week from you, and marks every page up so search engines and AI assistants can read it. It costs $35 a month and takes nothing from your orders.

Prices on this page are from each company's own pricing page on October 24, 2026.

Arara or Popmenu

Popmenu is a marketing platform with a website inside it. Its plans add email campaigns, text messages, social posting and AI-written posts, and online ordering costs extra on every plan. If you want a marketing department in software, that's what you're paying for. If what you need is a site that's right and gets found, Arara costs $35 a month instead of $179.

Arara or Owner.com

Owner.com is built around direct online ordering, with a website, an app and loyalty around it. The $249 plan adds 5% to each online order, and guests pay a 5% fee on both plans. If a big share of your sales comes through online orders and you want to move them off the delivery apps, look at it closely. Arara doesn't take orders. It sends diners to the ordering service you already use, and it doesn't touch the money.

Arara or BentoBox

BentoBox is now part of Clover, and its website says its products are sold only to Clover point-of-sale customers. It doesn't publish prices. If you're not on Clover, it isn't an option.

Arara or Squarespace and Wix

Squarespace and Wix make good-looking sites, and you can build a restaurant site on either one. You'll spend the evenings on it. You'll pick a template, type in the menu, write the pages, add the structured data search engines want (or skip it), and come back every time a price or an hour changes. Arara starts from what's already out there about your restaurant, asks you to confirm each fact, and keeps the technical part handled for you.

Questions owners ask

What is the best website builder for a restaurant?

It depends on what you want to spend your time on. If you like building things yourself, Squarespace and Wix are fine and inexpensive. If online ordering drives your business, an ordering platform like Owner.com is built for that. If you want an accurate site on your own domain that diners and AI assistants can find, without building it yourself, that's what Arara is for, at $35 a month.

Is there a cheaper alternative to Popmenu?

Yes. Arara is $35 a month, against Popmenu's $179 to $499. Arara doesn't do email or text marketing. It builds and runs your website, with your menu, your hours, your photos, your directions and reviews from your own guests.

Is there an alternative to Owner.com without order fees?

Arara charges no fee on orders because it doesn't process them. Your site links to whichever ordering service you choose, including one you run yourself.

Can I move from my current website to Arara?

Yes. Arara reads your current site and brings over your details, hours, photos and links for you to check. When you're happy with it, you point your domain at Arara and your email keeps working.
